Every family and every child is different. If yours isn't answered here, I'd love to hear from you.
Get in touch →Yes, I welcome NDIS participants. However, I am not a Registered NDIS Provider. This means I can specifically support children whose NDIS plans are either Self-Managed or Plan-Managed.
Please note that I am unable to see participants whose funding is 'NDIA Managed' (Agency Managed). If you are unsure which management type your child has, you can find this information in your child's NDIS plan or by checking with your Early Childhood Partner or Local Area Coordinator.
Once we decide to work together, I can provide a Service Agreement that outlines our partnership, fees, and how we will work toward your child's NDIS goals. This ensures total transparency and clarity for your plan reviews.
Yes, many families are able to access rebates to help subsidise the cost of therapy.
Private Health Insurance: Most private health funds provide rebates for speech pathology services. Since every fund and level of cover is different, I recommend contacting your provider directly to confirm your specific entitlements for 'Speech Pathology.' I will provide you with a full tax invoice after each session to make your claiming process straightforward.
If your child has a chronic or complex condition, your GP may be able to provide a 'Chronic Disease Management' (CDM) plan. This allows you to claim a partial rebate for up to five sessions per calendar year. Please ensure you have this plan in place and bring a copy to our initial consultation.
Please note that I do not offer bulk billing, and you cannot claim both a Private Health rebate and a Medicare rebate for the same session.
I do not have a waitlist. This is a deliberate choice based on how I manage my practice and ensure the highest quality of care.
I carefully review every inquiry to ensure that my service is the right fit for your child's needs. If I believe your child would be better served by a different specialist or a more generalised clinic, I will always provide you with a referral to the appropriate service. This clinical integrity ensures that my current families receive my full focus and a high level of responsive support.
If you feel my approach aligns with your family's goals, the first step is to contact me. We will then have a brief discussion to ensure our partnership will be the most effective way to support your child's progress.
While I work very closely with schools and teachers to align our goals, all therapy sessions are conducted within my dedicated clinic space. I have found this approach offers several significant advantages for your child's progress:
My clinic is carefully curated with specialized diagnostic and therapeutic tools that cannot be easily transported. Having access to my full range of resources allows me to pivot the session in real-time based on your child's engagement and needs.
I require a parent or caregiver to attend every session. I believe you are the expert on your child; by being in the room, you gain a deep understanding of the strategies we use, allowing you to confidently support your child's development throughout the week.
For many children, particularly those who are neurodivergent or benefit from trauma-informed care, having a neutral, predictable environment away from the social and sensory "noise" of school is essential for deep learning and focus.
For the child, entering the clinic signals a transition into a specific type of focused, playful learning that is distinct from "school work," which can often reduce task-avoidance.
Yes, I offer telehealth sessions where appropriate.
Online therapy can be a wonderful, flexible option for many families. However, whether it is the right fit depends entirely on your child's specific needs, their age, and the goals we are working toward. During our initial consultation, we can discuss whether a digital or face-to-face setting will be most effective for your child's progress.
Please note: For all online sessions, I require a parent or caregiver to be present and actively involved. This ensures we can bridge the gap between the screen and the home environment, allowing you to learn the strategies alongside your child for the best possible outcomes.
I believe that the foundation of successful therapy is a strong partnership between the clinician, the child, and the family. To ensure we are the right fit for each other, I use a three-step onboarding process:
We always begin by ensuring your child feels comfortable and 'at home' in the clinic. I don't rush into tasks; instead, we take the time to connect, follow your child's interests, and build a sense of trust.
Some days, a child is ready to dive into big challenges; other days, they might need a gentler, slower approach. I am trained to read these cues and adjust the session in real-time. This 'child-led' pace ensures that your child stays confident and never feels overwhelmed.
Because you are part of the session, the final few minutes are spent discussing what we observed and how you can easily weave these same supportive strategies into your daily life at home.
This dual perspective is the foundation of my practice. While a traditional clinical approach focuses on a child's specific communication difficulties, my experience in the classroom allows me to see the 'end goal' in a very practical way.
I understand the Australian Curriculum and the complex social and academic demands placed on students today. This means our therapy goals aren't just about 'finishing a task' in the clinic; they are designed to help your child navigate a busy classroom, follow multi-step instructions from a teacher, and engage confidently with their peers.
Because I speak the 'language of schools,' I can collaborate more effectively with your child's teacher. I understand the realities of the teacher to student ratio, which allows me to provide teachers with strategies that are realistic, sustainable, and directly aligned with the curriculum.
Tell me a little about your child and what you'd like help with. We'll find a time to chat, no pressure, no jargon.
